Inhambane used to be one of the most important ports along the coast and apparently was a bustling trade city once upon a time. You can still tell from some of the remaining beautiful buildings and the interesting architecture of the city (it even has a cinema!), but today it is a rather quiet, sleepy town.
We went there for an afternoon and walked around town, bought some veggies at the central market, watched the ferry come and go for Maxixe, and enjoyed a cup of coffee in shady courtyard restaurant. Inhambane felt like a good place to spend some time and I loved the quaint old buildings and the streets lined with trees…
