After our stop-over in Singapore, we arrived in Auckland and were greeted by Frodo and his companions.

We explored Auckland downtown and enjoyed the views from Mount Eden.

Then we went on to Pahia, where we spent Christmas on the beach and went for a sailing trip in the Bay of Islands.

After a long drive to the northernmost tip at Cape Reinga, we spent a night near Kerikeri before heading down to Lake Taupo for a few days at the central plateau around Rotorua.

From there, we drove back up to the Coromandel Peninsula, where we celebrated New Year’s eve at the Bushland Park Lodge and went for a boat trip in Mercury Bay.

Our final night on the North Island was spent in Wellington before taking the ferry to the South Island.

For a few days, we set up camp in Nelson, exploring Abel Tasman Park and the surrounding area.

From there we headed further South to the West Coast via Punaikaiki.

We explored the area around Fox Glacier and then crossed the Southern Alps via Arthur’s Pass.

In Akoroa we spent a few days near the beach and in search of dolphins and penguins.

Our final stop was Christchurch and then it was time to say good-bye to New Zealand.
