It was my first time in Central Africa and I flew into Yaoundé. From there we drove down to Douala, passing the famous “pont de fer” and stopping at the banks of the Sanaga River to feast on the biggest plate of crevettes I have ever seen. It was so much we couldn’t even finish it.
It was first and foremost a work trip with a lot of meetings and conferences, but I also saw a little bit of the colonial buildings and the colorful street life in the busy port city of Douala. Also, we ate delicious freshly grilled fish and “cameroes” near the mangroves almost every night.
Not bad for a first trip to Camero0n!
